Dr. Jennifer Johnson
Dr. Jennifer Johnson grew up in a small farming community in central Nebraska, where she cultivated a fierce love of all animals, big and small. Following graduation, she decided it was time for a change and relocated south to sunny Arizona in order to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology & Chemistry at Grand Canyon University. Her passion for medicine and animals then motivated her to pursue and proudly earn a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.
After many years of travel and work in traditional brick-and-mortar practices, Dr. Jen decided it was time to branch out into offering an alternative option to traditional veterinary care. In 2023, she opened her mobile veterinary care practice, Fetch The Pet Vet, in her small mountain hometown of Flagstaff, Arizona. Dr. Jen is boldly passionate about the mobile care model because she feels that in this situation, there is an allowance for a calmer, slower introduction where both the patients and the owners are able to relax in their own environment. She feels that this type of setting allows for a much more open communication style between herself and the client to make sure the physical, emotional, and medical needs of the animals are met as a whole.
Dr. Jen’s special interests include pain management, preventive medicine, geriatric care, internal medicine, dermatology, and allergy management. You may often see her out and about with her little sidekick and “assistant veterinarian in training” daughter, Jolie. Dr. Jen is exceptionally passionate about the animal shelter community and, in her spare time, can often be found fostering homeless pets and offering education on the importance of preventive care and proper husbandry for all animals. When not busy with work, Dr. Jen can be found enjoying a lazy football Saturday spent at home with her husband Matt, daughter, and the menagerie of pets who currently occupy their home, farm, and hearts.
